A New Rubber Stamp Show is coming to Wisconsin! In response to the many requests from stampers and vendors, we are excited to expand our schedule to include a NEW show in Milwaukee on September 22 & 23, 2012! Stampers won’t want to miss this show! We get great vendors to our shows and have a wonderful time! We’re going to give away over $1,300 in stamping related prizes and show dollars! Since this is a brand new show, we’re having a “Name the Convention” Contest! The prize for the winning name is $200 in “show dollars” to spend at the show! The stampers in the area have a much better idea of what they’d like “their” show to be called, so we ask for suggestions. The names can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or sent to our PO Box. There is no limit on names that can be sent in. If a convention name is sent in by more than 1 person, the first person to send in that particular name will be noted as having sent it in. The final decision will be made by Rubber Stamp Events. The winning name and lucky stamper will be announced at the show on Saturday at 12:00. Names need to be received (whether by email or mail) by September 8th.
We also have Card Contests. The categories for THIS show – Saturday’s category is “Sailing Along” and Sunday’s Category is “Not a Morning Person”. Due to the fact that we get so many wonderful cards sent in for the contest, we have 2 winners for each category. That means that 2 people EACH DAY will receive $100 in show bucks to spend at the show! Cards are to be sent to Rubber Stamp Events – WI Show, PO Box 1109, Nixa, MO 65714 and must be received by Saturday September 15 to be considered for the contest. Cards cannot be larger than 4 ¼ x 5 ½. Name and address info must be put on a paper or post-it note inside the card. Please note which category you’d like your card to be entered. No more than 2 cards per person per category. A person can only win once per weekend. Saturday winners will be announced at 2 pm and Sunday winners will be announced at 1 pm. You must show proper I.D. to receive your prize money. Cards are not returned, but are sold at later shows. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.
We give away door prizes EVERY HOUR throughout the show. IN ADDITION to the door prizes, EACH DAY we have a Grand Prize Drawing for a basket of stamping supplies and goodies – EACH basket worth over $350! A person must be present to win any of these prizes – so that means, we keep calling out names until someone claims the prize. Something new and even more exciting is what we started last year – when a person’s name is called as a Grand Prize Winner, that person has the choice of EITHER taking one of the two baskets OR coming back on Sunday and getting $300 in show bucks to spend at the show!
There will be make it and take its, and demos, as well as more detailed demos in an area where stampers can sit, watch and then ask questions.
There will be free coffee and iced tea for the stampers as they wait in line before the doors open Saturday morning. Just a little something we like to do to get everyone “ready” for a fun day full of stamping friends, vendors, stamping supplies and of course – stamps!
There will also be a “concession stand” in the same area as the show, so there will be no need to go out to a restaurant. We offer this so friends can have lunch together, take a little break, share some great buys that someone may have found and then get back to the “serious” business of the stamp show.
For those stampers who have to travel to get to the show (or want to make a full weekend of fun out of it), we will be getting some special rates at various hotels in the area. And many of those hotels have shuttles to the Fair Park so you won’t have to pay for parking!
It is still early to give a listing of vendors for the show, but we will be putting that information on the website soon. We get some of the greatest vendors in the industry!
The show will be held at the Wisconsin State Fair Park in the Products Pavilion which is located at 640 S 84th St., West Allis, WI 53214. The show hours will be Saturday 9:30 am until 5 pm, and Sunday will be 11 am until 4 pm. If a ticket is purchased prior to the show date, they are only $5 and those ticket holders can get in at 9:00 am. Tickets are perforated – one for Saturday and one for Sunday. (We have found that many stampers – even if they weren’t planning on coming back the following day – may have remembered something they just “had to have” and were able to come back with the free 2nd day ticket. Of course, many stampers plan to be there for both days anyway, so it’s nice to have the ticket already.)
The tickets can be purchased online (through our website www.rubberstampevents.com) or through the mail (by sending a check for $5 per ticket along with a self-addressed stamped enveloped to our PO Box). We’re hoping to offer tickets through stores around the state of Wisconsin. (If you know of any store that might be interested, please let me know.) If a ticket has to be purchased at the door, the tickets go on sale at 9:30 and the price is $7. Children 12 and under are free if accompanied by an adult.
In 2010, we gave a free ticket to everyone with the name of Barbara. In 2011, we gave a free ticket to all with the name of Nancy. This year, if your name is Cynthia (and show proper I.D.) you will get a free 2-DAY ticket at the door.
